Shearin' time down on the farm!

As many of you have noticed, it has been ridiculously hot lately, which means one thing at the cliff house hold. It's sheep shearin' time!

We have this awesome lady from New Zealand who comes and does them, I have totally respect for anyone who can shear a sheep because you have to grab them, then sit them on their haunches and then try and get the wool off them in one peice while they sit there all grumpty and squirmy like a toddler on santas lap. (exibit A below)

She also brought along some lambs which were so adorable it nearly hurt to look at them directly!

All in a days work at my house... we shall be getting some lambs like these soon and I cannot wait!

Of Sprinting and Siestas

Ok so I know iI haven't posted in forever but I have been busy doing things for a change as opposed to my usual woman-about-town/uni dropout lifestyle...

First of all I am in Forbidden Broadway at the moment which is amazing fun and I totally recommend you come along and check it out because it is an incredible show! (and not just because I am in it...) check out the theatre website for details http://www.starlighttheatrecoop.com/star.htm

We have had a couple of fabulous write up in the courier mail which is tres exciting http://www.starlighttheatrecoop.com/CourierMail17Oct09ForbiddenBroadway.jpg

http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,20797,26154894-7642,00.html

Second of all I had that revolting flu thing that has being going round which meant I lost my voice... not and ideal stuation when you're in a show but luckily with a bit of help from the amazing Katherine Johnson who filled in for me in the preview and some antibiotics I was back on track for opening night. I hate getting sick and those who are around me when i am know that I am the biggest wuss ever so pretty much spent an entire week moaning in bed and eating....

Meanwhile seeing this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASN_Ty3KDYE totally jolted me back into action - all I can say is Russia has found their sprint star for the next olympics! In other news and totally the other end of the spectrum I am in love with siestas at the moment (http://7pmproject.com.au/siestas-good-for-productivity.htm) I never used to be one of those people who could nap but now I have discovered the knack and I am not ashamed to admit that I love to sleep and often tranform into a yeti like creature if denied my 8 hours per night.

More Soon,

Of Strawberries and Quantum Theory

Ok so seeing as Myspace seems to be so over I have decided to start blogging here instead... if you want to check out any of my past blogs you can view them here http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.ListAll

I read this article in some highly reputable medical journal like shop til you drop, that after you turn 20, ten percent of your braincells die every decade. At first I was like, as if! but then I watched Are you smarter than a fifth grader (btw I'm pretty sure those kids are told all the answers... just saying the fact that they all know everything is a bit sus...either that or they are all actually super intelligent dwarfs) but the fact remains that those questions were hard and I am apparently not smarter that a fifth grader! Rove told me so so it mut be true!

"No way" said I! I'm not ready to jump on the train to gereiactic-town just yet! I am NOT going to end up like my great aunt who owned every issue of every newspaper written in the past 50 years in pile and piles and kepts buying strawberries non stop because she could never remember that she had bought some already......

So I decided I would read somthing intelligent and ended up buying a book on quantum theory. Ok, I'll be honest, I bought it because it had a bright orange cover and happy cartoon people on the front. But it turns out those cartoon people were lying! Because it is not happy go lucky fun - it is intense! For instance I'm only two chapters in and we have already covered the posibility of paralell universes and how atoms can be in a suprpostion of states- basically in two places at once.

So anyway I am determined to finish the book even though it may take me forever... OR perhaps no time at all if I can harness the superpositionary powers of the atoms with in me and read all the pages at once.... hmmmm.....

Anyway, my brain needs a rest now, maybe some TV will make it better. Much can be learnt from it too, how else would we be able to hear about such ground breaking inventions as the AB-King Pro or the snuggie?

More soon,
